FAQ

My counseling office is located in North Phoenix at Deer Valley Rd. and 19th Ave, just a few minutes away from I-17 N: 21630 N 19th Ave B10 Phoenix, AZ 85027

I am an out-of-network provider, which means that first you pay for therapy out of pocket, receive a superbill from me and seek reimbursement from your insurance carrier. Most of my clients get either partial or full reimbursement. However, I always suggest that you check in with your insurance for details prior to your first appointment.

It depends. If you are traveling internationally, then we may be able to do therapy depending on the country. However, if you are in another state, I cannot provide counseling services while you are there due to regulations.

If you have to cancel or reschedule, I ask that you do so no later than 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. Late cancellations (within 48 hours of a scheduled appointment) will result in a charge equal to the full session fee.

We will get started right away to determine your needs and goals. I will ask about the problem areas that you would like to prioritize, and I will offer different ways of tackling these issues as well as a skillset that you will need to adopt. At the end, I will share what steps we need to take, and we will decide what will work best.

Everyone has different needs when it comes to therapy and tailoring your treatment with different modalities works best.

I integrate traditional therapy modalities such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, or Motivational Interviewing.

When it comes to Marriage Counseling or Couples Therapy, I like to use the Gottman Method

Other therapies that I incorporate include Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy for trauma and regulating your stress response. At times, I combine Post Induction Therapy to connect to your inner child, to process codependency issues, and to work out childhood trauma.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Arizona University.

My career has been shaped by the nation’s premier treatment facility, the Meadows, where I’ve worked as a primary therapist. I adopted the Meadow’s Model or Overview of Developmental Immaturity Issues into work with my clients to get to the root of the codependency issues, addictions, and relational problems.

It is vital that you show up for your counseling sessions not just physically, but emotionally. This means being ready to engage in self-discovery, open to learning new thinking patterns, and behaviors. If you have assignments between sessions, be ready to explore them and ask questions.

My desire is to help as many people as I can in the shortest amount of time. Your likelihood of making progress increases as you invest more time and effort in personal growth. This includes the work you put into our sessions and how often you implement your tools in-between sessions.

Typically, my clients find relief and start to understand themselves better after their first session. Incorporating the newly-emerged technique of Accelerated Resolution Therapy as well as mind and body approaches earlier, can start making you feeling better within 1 to 5 therapy sessions.

With family and couples work, I ask my clients to commit to at least three months of weekly therapy to ensure solid results.

My intention is to help each participant feel empowered, and take responsibility for their actions, while feeling validated, without blame. I do my best to treat the couple or family as a unit or as one client. Meaning I avoid taking sides and look at the whole picture.

The preferred method is via my contact form. However, feel free to call 602-888-1107 and leave a detailed message in my confidential voicemail or email and include your name, telephone number or email with the best time to reach you.
