Accelerated Resolution Therapy: A Game Changer in Treating Trauma

Is Accelerated Resolution Therapy right for you?

What if I told you that Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) allows you to let go of your trauma without disclosing it? As you can tell by the name, ART was created to work even faster than other evidence-based psychotherapy modalities, let alone traditional talk therapy. The fact that it works faster does not diminish its effectiveness; on the contrary, it enhances it. It’s the NEXT LEVEL approach.

Many psychotherapy modalities take a non-directive path, where your therapist and you do not directly work on solving your problem but create conditions for you to transform organically… with time. Accelerated Resolution Therapy recognizes that time is of the essence. While it allows you to control the content of whatever we are working on, each step of the process is guided by your therapist for quicker results.

How many times have you started something and then got exasperated and quit because it was not producing results quickly enough? With Accelerated Resolution Therapy, you can avoid this problem and enjoy a permanent transformation free of trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and many other issues. This is why I would always use this modality for my residential clients who required the highest level of care in the shortest amount of time.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy neatly packages the BEST of many psychotherapies with the right amount of eye movement for astounding results. On top of that, ART takes it one step further and adds something unique – its Voluntary Image Replacement. As a result, sometimes all it takes is one session (after laying the foundation) for some clients to leave the office without a problem that they suffered for many years.

How does Accelerated Resolution Therapy Work?

The way that Accelerated Resolution Therapy works is that it takes advantage of a naturally occurring process in your brain of how you remember emotionally-based memory. This process is called “Memory Reconsolidation.” With the help of smooth-pursuit eye movements, your accelerated resolution therapist will open the Reconsolidation Window and conduct Voluntary Image Replacement. If you are confident that you want to get rid of traumatic images or make them feel like a distant dream, then ART is right for you.

What is Reconsolidation Window?

Reconsolidation Window is a discrete window of time during which memories can be deliberately changed by activating the target memory of your choice and replacing it with a soothing emotional or physical sensation to be associated with the memory.

What is Voluntary Image Replacement?

Voluntary Image Replacement is the process of voluntarily rescripting distressing scenes with positive images. As a result, clients will tend not to be able to remember the painful memory in the same way that they did before an ART session. This means that the original images may be harder to recall in the visual form, or the brain may skip to the new images. Bear in mind that you will still remember things in the narrative form.

Most clients are content with replacing the images. However, because image replacement is voluntary, you do not have to alter the original images if you prefer. If you want to shift your emotional connection with these images, ART can work similarly to EMDR.
